Notebetween 1640 and 1660 He the first of the family who settled in Ireland, of ancient Yorkshire decent, obtained a grant of lands in the county of Kerry, between the years 1640 and 1660, which he soon afterwads alienated. Purchased several debentures, which were confirmed to him as a loyal subject, when Sir Peter Courthope, was governor of Munster, about 1660. The East and West Creaghkerries were the lands so acquired, and were named Fountainville by Mr Atkins, they were situated in the barony of Fermoy, and county of Cork, midway beween Mallow, Buttevant and Doneraile. This Richard was second son of Atkins of Bredding. between 1640 and 1660 at Fountainville, Cork, Ireland.3
Note*May 1678 He the first of the family who settled in Ireland, sold the lands, which it is said had been assigned to his father, in Kerry, and purchased several debentures confirmed to him by a grant. in May 1678 at Kerry, Ireland.4 
Marriage*1683 He married Barbara Fuller in 1683 at Grunthorpe, Yorkshire, England; seems a bit late? 
Death*10 December 1710 Richard Atkins died on 10 December 1710 at Doneraile, Cork, Ireland.2 
Burial* He was buried at C of I Churchyard, Doneraile, Cork, Ireland.5,6
